GoPlay! Is a prototype that I made to test my abilities to write efficient multiplayer communications in the Unity Game Engine. I was inspired by the Jackbox Games series and Kahoot, which both use phones as controllers connected to a host computer. I was curious about what a game would look like that used the phone's gyroscope information to play the game, so I designed a sumo-wrestling type game that can take a maximum of 16 players. In the game, you tilt your phone to control the direction of the ball. The platform becomes smaller, and it becomes harder to prevent yourself from getting knocked off from other players. Whoever survives the longest wins the round. I really enjoyed creating this prototype, and I had fun playing it with my friends too. It tested my Photon Unity Networking abilities and taught me a lot about sending packets across hosts and clients efficiently.
